For one month 12 international artists, including me, lived in this traditional Kukama house, called moloka (or Kukameria) in a tiny village of Santo Tomás, near Iquitos, Peru. There we learned about Amazon region and Kukama people, along with their disappearing indigenous culture. Two exhibitions emerged out of our collective experiences. One is at the Galeria ICPNA (Instituto Cultural Peruano Norteamericano, Calle Pevas, 487) April 27-June 9, 2017 in Iquitos, Peru. It is the first ever art exhibition in the region. And the second one is June 2-July 2, 2017 at the Centro Cultural de la Escuela de Bellas Artes del Perú in the historic center of Lima (Jr. Huallaga 402 - 426), Peru. During this time I've made a new short doc, "El Río de los Kukamas" and started working on my new feature titled "Moon Cycles". After leaving Peru in early May, I travelled through beautiful and somewhat hostile Bolivia and am now in Chile. For the next month I will cross Chilean-Argentinian border a few times and will visit two European Space Observatories.
