PLACES

Liason of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto - http://www.lift.on.ca/
They offer great and inexpensive courses on various aspects of filmmaking,
as well as cheap rates on equipment rentals.
One can also post his/her event info, cast or crew call. Membership is required.

Mandy.com - http://www.mandy.com/
Almighty Mandy.com is a great sourse for obtaining film experience and filling casting and crew positions.
I gained a lot of my lighting experience through volunteering on posted on Mandy's sets
before became eligible for Union work.
If you want to get into film, practically, use this website. But the level of productions sometimes
isn't that inspiring. But hey, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger!

Canadian Screen Training Centre - http://www.cstc.ca
Slightly expensive, yet an amazing place to learn and practice the art of filmmaking.
For 5 days people all over Canada gather to study, meet, share and create, while attending
various seminars, classes, screenings and parties. To make it an ultimate experience, make a research on instructors.
Some of them, as successful as they are, may not be the best teachers.
